So I been asked the usual questions a lot lately so i figured I would just write about it. The common ones are “why not go into gaming?”, “Why don’t you become a writer or publisher?”, “Why not take up photography full time?”. Well, for one thing, I do plan to maybe do a little photography gig on the side in the near future. It will give me a chance to get out and shoot more and gain access to new ideas and places to shoot. If someone were to ask me to do one for them now, I’d hop all over it if I had the time. I love photography, black and white to be exact. when I can set up my own darkroom, I will get back into wet photography again as well.
Then there is the writing thing. I love to write, it’s a fun hobby. I just do not have the patience to sit and really do it ALL the time. Same goes for editing. I don’t have the patience to sit and do that. I do, however, aspire to write a book and get it published. Have for the longest. The problem isn’t coming up with ideas, its the sitting down and actually doing it part that is the issue. I envy those who have the patience and can commit to doing such a thing. But because I am into soooo many other things as well, it makes it kind of difficult lol.
Finally, the gaming. The answer is pretty much the same for why i don’t sit and be a writer. I do not have the patience to sit and create a game, much rather be playing the final product. Though after talking to my little brother, who is going into game design, we have concluded that i would actually consider being on the story board team. I know I know, I just said I couldn’t sit and commit to writing a book, so how am I willing to get on the story board. That’s what your thinking right? Well, there is a difference. On the story board for a game, you are working with a group of people, letting your ideas fill the room and come together. That I can do, and would enjoy doing. Sitting by myself to get it done is what I can’t seem to do.
So there you have it. That is why I don’t commit full time to those things. They are my hobbies, and just fun for me. Also, I feel my calling is somewhere in the criminal justice system. I want to be able to help people, or solve cases and chase the bad guy. That is what i always found exciting and wanted to get into. Especially after getting into a series by JD Robb (also Nora Roberts). known as the “In Death” series. Oh Yea, that is where my heart is right now. If, for whatever reason, my direction in the criminal justice system doesn’t work out, my degree will allow me to easily transition into the gaming, which would be my second choice anyway.
Well what do you know, everyone has learned a bit more about me in depth haha. Cool Beans. Ciao!
